The purpose of this operation is to boost the department of Finistère and in particular the Brest metropolis. Through this operation, we would like to raise public awareness on the national and international Vintage culture by proposing French and international vintage exhibitors and designers, while proposing a moment of sharing and cultural encounters.

By the way.....What is   the    vintage ?

According to the website “Toute la décoration”, the English word “vintage” comes from the French expression “Vingt ans d’age” and qualifies a style, a trend, an object whose design is over 20 years old. Nevertheless, vintage wares can be used in the contemporary period and can, sometimes, be brought up to date.

Nowadays, the vintage is really booming. The public wants to break away from our current consumption system and rediscover the little pleasures and the comforting atmosphere that they have known during their childhood through toys, decorations, clothes, music ... and let their own children discover how daddy and mom, granny and grandpa grew up. A Vintage event is also a way to have access to a world not known for the most part of people. In addition to the desire to recreate the past, the nostalgia invoked by vintage leads to a reappropriation and recreation of consumer goods.

How is the project innovative ?

AThere’s no such operation organized in the Finistère, despite the emergence in the other departments of Brittany. There is a real cultural and economic interest that makes our operation a promising event. For the exhibitors, the municipality, its inhabitants and its traders, it is a real economic dynamism. We noticed it when we attended these kinds of events, in Brittany. Yet there are many communities in the Finistere which are just waiting to be given the opportunity to gather and share their passion. Furthermore, many people are willing to travel several hundred kilometers just to attend this type of event.
